Our Vision 03 / 06

Specialty expertise meets digital innovation

We are bringing the technology of the big-box stores to a specialty cedar yard that already has what big box can’t replicate: local market knowledge, trades-grade product expertise, and a 5-star community reputation. Home Depot has real-time inventory and online ordering; CV Cedar has the right cedar in stock and people who know what to do with it. The opportunity is to combine both.

01

Real-time online inventory and contractor portal

The single biggest unlock, built in-house. SKU-level visibility, contractor accounts, mobile-first quoting, quote-by-photo.

02

Reimagined customer experience

Designed end-to-end across discovery, quoting, install, and follow-up. Starting with contractors.

03

Continuing the seller’s roadmap

Outdoor living vertical (decks, pergolas, sheds, saunas) and in-house cedar resaw and milling. Both opportunities the current owner has identified, both ones we are prepared to take on.

By FY2029: ~$3.5M revenue, an established outdoor living vertical, and the regional brand homeowners and contractors default to first.
The Platform Advantage 04 / 06

Built once, leveraged everywhere

Building these systems in-house produces a proprietary technology platform. On Vancouver Island, that platform is a definitive advantage; current competitors will struggle to replicate a real-time product inventory and contractor portal of this complexity. The platform becomes the engine for geographic expansion, offering an experience players in Nanaimo, Parksville, or Powell River can’t offer.

Why us, and why now

A family chapter, and a community one.

We are laying down roots for our family, Ria, Davey, our son Rainer, and our dog Goji, here on Vancouver Island.

Between us, we have spent our careers helping enterprises grow: navigating complexity, building teams, designing experiences that endure. We have done that work for other people’s visions. Now we are ready to do it for our own, and to carry forward something that matters to this community.
